Golda-Meir bridge for urban district Europacity in Berlin/Germany

Within a complex joint project between STREICHER Tief- und Ingenieurbau Jena and STREICHER Maschinenbau a new foot and cycle path bridge – the so called Golda-Meir bridge – has been installed in the heart of Berlin.

The sophisticated steel bridge with a length of 80 m was manufactured by STREICHER Maschinenbau within a six months period in the assembly halls in Deggenau/Deggendorf and afterwards transported to Berlin by ship.

On site STREICHER Tief- und Ingenieurbau Jena has executed the corresponding thrust bearings. Thus the bridge was installed over the Berlin-Spandauer-Schifffahrtskanal in October 2020. Meanwhile the bridge for pedestrians and bikers is open and at night shines in a golden gloss because of its special paintwork.
