The programme included an extensive tour of the asphalt mixing plant and the quarry in Bösenbrunn and the quarry in Limbach – both located in Saxony’s Vogtland/Germany. The apprentices and students got detailed information on the excavation materials, the extraction processes and the feed rates. The highlight of the tour was a blasting in the middle of the day – at the quarry in Limbach about 10,775 m³ of diabase stone were extracted. Previously, more than 80 drill holes had to be provided with approx. 7,300 kg explosive material.
During the following lunch and the return journey to Deggendorf the participants had the opportunity to get to know each other better and to discuss the impressions of the day.
